Husband, Father, Thinker.

We are a fragile people on the verge of sopor
One breath from death or greatness
Depending upon which way we roll
My son rolled this morning and took a tumble
But I caught him as he fell from our bed
Jeff wasn't as lucky, and now he's dead
It was cancer that made his body crumble
He fought hard but the disease took control
And it killed him while my son lives to progress
And experience this life, this mist, this vapor

I'll be honest with you. You can write ideas, but you have no knack for poetry.

Well, that's really sweet of you.

I completely disagree with reader that you do not have a knack for poetry and agree that you can write ideas. I thought your word choice was absolutely prodigious. Your ideas were heart-renching and that combined with you amazing word choice almost brought tears to my eyes! Also, your metaphors were marvelous. "Time is a fatal friend" and "...lost in a forest of my own invention, were remarkable and genius. The rhyming was very enjoyable, by the way. In other words, your poetry is some of the best I have ever read and I LOVED it! Can't wait for more additions! Great job!
